About Vitality Chicago
Vitality Chicago Inc. is a team of high-energy, results-oriented Agile Coaches striving to be the premier Agile Transformation Firm in Chicago. We have a solid track record of helping organizations deliver business results with Agile and Scrum. We’ve provided Agile and Scrum Training to over 100 teams in various industries and we’ve coached dozens of Fortune 500 organizations through their Agile Transformation.
Anthony is passionate about helping technology teams THRIVE and organizations TRANSFORM. He partners with organizations to help teams learn the Scrum Framework, apply the Agile Mindset and deliver high-quality solutions.
He teaches Agile, Scrum and Lean Principles as well as the mindset and cultural changes necessary to support self-organizing teams. He helps organizations establish co-located and cross-functional Scrum Teams, identify effective Product Owners, and create initial product backlogs.
Anthony coaches and trains Agile Leaders to help them understand Agile and Scrum and how to create an environment where people come first, productivity is high, and teamwork is effective and enjoyable. Anthony has authored numerous articles and two books: “Agile Project Management for Teams” and “Emotional Intelligence for Project Managers”.
Tom Cagley is a consultant, speaker, author, and coach who leads organizations and teams to unlock their inherent greatness. He has developed estimation models and has supported organizations developing classic and Agile estimates. Tom helps teams and organizations improve cycle time, productivity, quality, morale, and customer satisfaction and then prove it.
Mr. Cagley is an internationally respected blogger and podcaster for over 11 years focusing on software process and measurement. His blog entries and podcasts have been listened to or read well over a million times. He co-authored Mastering Software Project Management: Best Practices, Tools and Techniques with Murali K. Chemuturi. Tom penned the chapter titled “Agile Estimation Using Functional Metrics” in The IFPUG Guide to IT and Software Measurement. His certifications include CFPS, IT-CMF Tier 2 Certified Associate, CSM, SAFe SPC, TMMi Assessor, and TMMi Professional.
Gary Pedretti is an Agile software development trainer, practitioner, and coach. He has helped businesses deliver value via software over the past twenty years, from small volunteer organizations to Fortune 100 corporations.
Gary is a Professional Scrum Trainer for Ken Schwaber’s Scrum.org. He holds the Scrum certifications of CSM; PSM I, II, and III; PSPO I and II; and PSD .NET and Java. He has spoken at numerous conferences and user groups, including Agile 2015, O’Reilly Software Architecture Conference, Agile and Beyond, Agile Midwest, and Chicago Code Camp.
Rick Waters is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and Agile Coach specializing in helping people form teams and work together cohesively. He has been podcasting since 2007, and currently hosts the Agile Chicago Style podcast. Michael K Sahota trains and guides leaders on how to create high-performance organizations. As a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC), Michael has created a proven system for leading organizational change through a practical playbook for high performance. His model for Consciously Approaching Agile guides the creation of a cultural and leadership context where Agile drives lasting organizational results.
As a Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) Educator with the Scrum Alliance, Michael has taught over 1000 leaders on a worldwide basis. His highly accoladed “Agile” Culture & Leadership (CAL1) Training gives gives executives, managers and coaches worldwide the mindset shift needed for lasting success. In 2012, he published the ground-breaking book An Agile Adoption and Transformation Survival Guide: Working with Organizational Culture. In 2018, he published Emotional Science: The Key to High Performance. Michael is currently finishing work on his upcoming book Leadership 314.
David Sohmer is an experienced technology leader who loves helping organizations and teams reach their highest potential. He has deep experience creating agile organizations and working with C-suite executives to achieve true and lasting business agility. He partners with Vitality Chicago client executives to provide guidance and best practices for Agile Transformation.
David served as CIO of a leading global asset manager, led teams of software product developers at a Fortune 25 financial services company and spent many years as a senior software engineer. He also trained under Craig Larman, co-founder of the LeSS Agile (de)scaling framework. He has a B.S. in Mathematics from Wheaton College (IL) and a Masters of Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
We’ve partnered with Northwestern University School of Professional Studies to offer the Certificate in Agile Practices. This certificate is earned by taking the core Agile for Practitioner Training course and 2 elective courses. The Agile for Practitioner Training Course is for those project managers, team members, leaders and other practitioners who want an in-depth understanding of multiple agile frameworks and processes. This course includes the content of the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner exam and may be used to prepare you to get your PMI-ACP certification.
